Brief History

              The Montalban Municipal Council through the leadership of Mayor Pedro Cuerpo, and in consortium with the Department of Education worked hand-in-hand to establish public elementary and secondary schools in all barangays of Montalban. Eventually, the number of secondary graduates increased. In response to the need, the Local Government created and established the Pamantasan ng Montalban or the PnM.

SEPTEMBER 25, 2003 - The Municipal Ordinance No. 03-04(Approving the Establishment of the Pamantasan ng Montalban), which was authored by Coun. Jemelita B. Dulla and facilitated by Mayor Pedro Cuerpo, was approved by the Sangguniang Bayan of Rodriguez, Rizal through the sponsorship of Councilor Jemelita B. Dulla.

JUNE 2004 – The Office of the Action Officer on Education headed by the Committee on Education Chairman Coun. Jemelita B. Dulla, together with the Sangguniang Bayan Staff headed by Secretary Lilibeth Vicente, and HRD Office Office headed by Mr. Noel Brotonel, worked hand-in-hand to provide the necessary documents, feasibility studies and operation logistics for the fulfillment of necessary requirements in the operation of the Pamantasan ng Montalban while Mayor Cuerpo, with the Engineering Department worked on the school building, furniture and fixtures.

JULY 5, 2004 – The Municipal Ordinance No. 04-03, (Authorizing the Sangguniang Bayan ng Rodriguez, Province of Rizal to Establish and Operate the Pamantasan ng Montalban and for other purposes), was approved by the Sangguniang Bayan through the motion made by Councilor Jemelita Dulla.

JULY 26, 2004 – The Kautusan Blg. 04-05 (Nagpapatibay sa Paglalaan ng Halagang 1.2M para Magamit sa Operasyon ng Pamantasan ng Montalban sa Ilalim ng Aid to Education para sa Taong 2004-2005 na Kukunin sa Various Expenses of the Mayor), approved by the Sangguniang Bayan through a motion made by Coun. Jemelita B. Dulla.

NOVEMBER 5, 2004 – TESDA granted the Pamantasan ng Montalban the authority to offer the following two-year courses, (1) Nursing Aide with NTR No. 0404A040410; (2) Civil Technology with NTR No. 0404A040411; (3) Computer Technology with NTR No. 0404A040412; (4) Garments Technology with NTR No. 0404A040413, which were signed by Region IV-A Dir. Ma. Susan P. dela Rama.

APRIL 4, 2005 - Municipal Ordinance No. 05-07(An Ordinance Establishing the Pamantasan ng Montalban, and Appropriating Funds Thereof) was approved by the Sangguniang Bayan through a motion by Coun. Jemelita B. Dulla.

MAY 17, 2005 - CHED granted the Pamantasan Ng Montalban permits to operate both the Bachelor of Science in entrepreneurial Management (CHED Regional Order No. 004) and the Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Management (CHED Regional Order No.005) signed by Region IV-A Director Isabel F. Inlayo, Ed.D., CESO III.

JUNE 20, 2005 - CHED granted The Pamantasan ng Montalban permit to operate the Bachelor of Elementary Education with concentration in early Childhood Education (CHED Order No. 006) signed by Region IV-A Director Isabel F. Inlayo, Ed.D., CESO III.

DECEMBER 21, 2005 - CHED granted the Pamantasan ng Montalban permit to operate the Second Year Level of the Bachelor of Elementary Education with concentration in early Childhood Education (CHED Order No. 007 Series of 2005) signed by Region IV-A Director Isabel F. Inlayo, Ed.D., CESO III.

JANUARY 10, 2006 - CHED granted the Pamantasan ng Montalban permit to operate the Second Year Level of the Bachelor of Science Commerce major in Management (CHED Order No. 002 Series of 2006) signed by Region IV-A Director Isabel F. Inlayo, Ed.D., CESO III.

MARCH 22, 2006 - CHED granted the Pamantasan ng Montalban permit to operate both the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (CHED Order No. 003 Series of 2006) signed by Region IV-A Director Isabel F. Inlayo, Ed.D., CESO III.

FEBRUARY 5, 2007 - CHED granted the Pamantasan ng Montalban permit to operate the Second Year Level of the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (CHED Order No. 004 Series of 2007) signed by Region IV-A Director Isabel F. Inlayo, Ed.D., CESO III.

FEBRUARY 5, 2007 - CHED granted the Pamantasan ng Montalban permit to operate the Third Year Level of Bachelor of Elementary Education with concentration in early Childhood Education (CHED Order No. 003 Series of 2007) signed by Region IV-A Director Isabel F. Inlayo, Ed., CESO III.

              The Pamantasan ng Montalban campus offers its services to the residents of Montalban, which is located at the Montalban Educational center in Kasiglahan Village, Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal. It aims to provide quality non-degree and degree courses needed by the community.

              The HIGCC, the PRRC and Hon. Gov. Casimiro Ynares, Jr donated school building through the initiative of Mayor Pedro S. Cuerpo and Coun. Jemelita B. Dulla.

              Another school building called the PSC College Building inaugurated last March 2008 and is now being occupied.

              For the school year 2008-2009, PnM offers the following courses: Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering(5 years), Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering(5 years), Bachelor of Science in Information Technology(4 years), Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship Management(4 years), Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development Management(4 years), Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Management(4 years), Bachelor of Elementary Education with concentration in Early Childhood Education(4 years), Bachelor of Elementary Education with concentration in Content Course(4 years), Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Biological Science(4 years), Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Physical Science(4 years), Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Technological & Livelihood Management(4 years), Certificate Course in Computer Technology(2 years), Certificate Course in Civil Technology(2 years), Garments Technology(2 years), (Nursing Aide) Health Care Services NC Level III(2 years), and Information and Communication Technology(2 years).

              And as of November 21, 2008, its population of enrollees per course are: BSCpE(120), BSCE(81), BSIT(148), BSEM(88), BSBA HRDM(109), BSCM(118), BEED ECED(155), BEED CC(59), BSE BioSci(54), BSE TLE(1), BSE PhySci(0), DCoT(154), DCiT(15), DGT(4), DNURA(160), and ICT(182). With a grand total population of 1,448.
