School History

Geronimo Elementary School is located in the heart of Brgy. Geronimo and a next door neighborhood of G.L.G.M.N.H.S.

After the creation of Barrio Geronimo in 1960, the barrio council made a resolution requesting congress for a barrio school. It was Sen. Francisco Sumulong who appropriated the amount of Php 8,000 out of his pork barrel for the purchase of a school site. The barrio council found a school site situated at Balicatan ricefields and bought 1,600 sq. m. lot for Php 7,800.

While waiting for a request of a two-room prehab building, two Grade I classes were housed at rented rooms. It had a combined enrollment of 100 pupils. In 1968, the two-room prehab building was constructed at the school site. It was followed by 7 rooms Marcos type building and other school facilities. The site was also enclosed by a concrete fence. In 1974, the barrio school, become Geronimo Primary School. In 1983, due to the growth of enrollment, the provincial government of the former Governor Isidro S. Rodriguez Sr. purchased the adjacent lot of 3,400 sq. m. The school site has now a total land area of 5,000 sq. m. A two storey 6 rooms was also constructed in the newly bought piece of land. During that time it became a complete elementary school.

For S.Y. 2007-2008 the school has an enrollment of 1,060 pupils, 20 teachers and 3 non-teaching personnel. It has four 2-storey buildings with 6 room each. And two multiple buildings which are being used for H.E. laboratory and school canteen and feeding center.

The school is striving to cope with the demand of time and be true to the Vision and Mission formulated.
